Lavender Jadeite, named for its resemblance to the delicate violet flower, is often referred to in the jewelry world as “Chun” (Spring). There is a popular saying among jade connoisseurs: “Red for luck, green for wealth, but purple is the most noble.” This variety is cherished for its lustrous, elegant, and sophisticated temperament.
In Western mythology, the violet symbolizes eternal beauty, born from the tears of Venus, the goddess of love and beauty. In Chinese culture, purple has always been the color of divinity and royalty—exemplified by the idiom “Purple Qi arrives from the East”(auspicious energy). It represents mystery, opulence, and high status. This fusion of Eastern and Western admiration makes Lavender Jadeite a universally beloved gemstone.
The centerpiece of this ring is a petite, rounded Pi Xiu meticulously carved from a single piece of Lavender Jadeite. The Pi Xiu’s artistic origins date back to the Han Dynasty; historically known as “Tian Lu” (Heavenly Wealth), it was a totemic guardian of imperial treasures and a symbol of the royal house. To the right of the Pi Xiu are five 18K gold “Square-holed Coins”, reinforcing the theme of safeguarding wealth and attracting prosperity. Two vibrant green jadeite cabochons accent either side, lending a spirited energy to the design.
A brilliant detail of this piece is its transformable design: the central jadeite and gold motif can be detached from the band and worn independently as an exquisite necklace pendant. This dual-purpose functionality combines practical versatility with an element of playful charm.
